If you're just starting out in the game, hold onto the weapon with the highest base damage and your favorite secondary stats, crit, crit damage, lifesteal, whatever your build needs. I realize this is a bit late, but for anyone else who comes across this thread, perhaps this advice may help: So, is all of this just rare, or maybe just a matter of perception on my part? What gives? And, more importantly, what's your overall advice when it comes to transmutation in general? I was expecting to get something far better than any of the three weapons I used as ingredients when I did this, but instead it seems like you're just rolling the dice and there's an excellent chance that your new weapon could actually be worse than one or even all of the three you used as ingredients. Is this what often happens? Is taking three weapons and transmuting them into a new one even worth gambling on? I mean, how often does your new weapon turn out to be, essentially, crap? Well, because both of the times I've tried this, I just ended up with a new weapon that seemed to be either of equal or even lesser worth to me (by "worth," I don't mean value in gold rather, I'm describing the weapon's combination of damage, crit, properties, etc.). "Why haven't you done it more", I can hear you asking, as you sit in your comfy chair in front of the computer, absolutely enraptured by my glorious prose describing my activities in a videogame. I recently started trasnmuting things, but I've only taken three of the same weapon and transmuted them into one (supposedly) superior weapon of the same kind twice. Hey, everyone! Since downloading VV earlier this week, it has quickly become my favorite game.
